Where the Pancakes Are

Sector: Hospitality
Details: Pancakes, all day, every day.
Location: Battersea Power Station

Where the Pancakes Are launched as a pop on the Regents Canal in Hackney, London on Shrove Tuesday in 2015. Its popularity was astonishing and led Patricia Trijbits, CEO and Founder, to open the first restaurant in Flat Iron Square, London, the following year. A second restaurant opened in Fitzrovia in 2021, and Chapman Ventilation proudly worked with the brand on their third, and most recent, restaurant opening in Battersea Power Station.

In case you hadn’t already guessed, the main item on the menu is pancakes! Where the Pancakes Are specialises in buttermilk pancakes. The batter is made fresh on site every day and contain 12 ingredients, including organic flour and high welfare eggs.

Diners are treated to a vast selection of sweet and savoury pancakes, and the dishes can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, dinner or as a late night snack.

"Working on WTPA within Battersea Power Station has been a unique experience for me and the team. The obstacles this landmark presented to build this fantastic restaurant within it was challenging, but rewarding. "

Robyn Moody, Project Manager at Chapman Ventilation Ltd

Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is an iconic, Art Deco, London landmark. It is Grade II* listed and one of the worlds largest brick buildings! The power station spent a significant period of the 1900’s burning coal to provide electricity for nearly 20% of London, before being decommissioned in 1983.

It had stood empty for decades, before a huge regeneration project began in 2014. After 8 years, the once derelict site was converted into a mini city filled with homes, offices, shops, restaurants and bars. It also now features a glass lift that can take visitors up 109m to a viewing platform at the top of the north west chimney. Battersea Power Station has well and truly been rejuvenated!

We had a flippin’ good time!

Chapman Ventilation were delighted to work with Where the Pancakes Are on the latest opening for this popular brand. We were also thrilled with the opportunity to be involved in the restoration of this historic building. Watching it transform from a derelict building to a thriving hub has been incredible!

As ever, it’s all about teamwork. Our CAD Designers enjoyed the challenge of producing HVAC that suited the unique location, whilst also functioning perfectly and being on brand. The Project Admin Team ensured that all materials were delivered on time for the Project Manager to get installed ready for the restaurant’s opening day.

Regardless of the size, location or unique requirements of your HVAC project, get in touch and find out how we can help.
