Carlotta

Sector: Theatrical hospitality
Details: Italian, with an American twist
Location: Marylebone, London

Carlotta is the fifth addition to the collection of Big Mamma Group restaurants.

Big Mamma have continued with their infamous “big” style which sees Carlotta feature bold and dramatic lighting, exquisite décor and unique fittings and furniture. The array of intricate design elements all come together to create a truly beautiful restaurant.

In keeping with all of the Big Mamma restaurants, Carlotta tells a story to the customers dining there. Italian culture in America is the theme and it can be seen, felt and tasted via the artwork displayed on the walls, fabrics used throughout the restaurant and the dishes on the menu.

The menu contains a selection of the favourite Italo American classics and their produce is sourced from either Great Britain or delivered straight from Italy. Carlotta also contains the restaurant groups first stand alone bar, serving champagne, cocktails and featuring an extensive whisky menu.

As a certified B Corporation since 2018, Big Mamma are serious about doing the right thing. We applaud them for constantly striving to do better for their staff and the environment.

"We worked closely with the Design and Project Management team at Big Mamma Group to develop a variety of mechanical solutions to ensure the successful fit out of this restaurant. The outcome of our hard work is this truly beautiful restaurant, that is also functional and efficient."

Mark Noakes, Project Manager at Chapman Ventilation LTD

Marylebone, London

Carlotta is nestled in the middle of chic Marylebone, in Central London. The restaurant itself is on Marylebone High Street and is a stones throw from a number of famous London landmarks including Regents Park, fashion district Bond Street and the BT Tower.

Based in the heart of the heart of London, Carlotta is surrounded by a variety of transport options and is well served for all who wish to dine there.

Mamma Rules!

Chapman Ventilation love to work with new clients. We especially love to work with new clients who design such unique restaurants as this gives our talented CAD team the opportunity to show off their skills!

Carlotta is housed in an incredibly old building in a historic part of London. This made the installation of AC condensers on to the roof particularly tricky as the only access available was via a skylight within the roof of the restaurant. This was skilfully navigated by the project team using a scaffold lifting tower to ensure the skylight was safely installed.

The reduced ceiling height in the basement also provided a challenge for our CAD team. They creatively found a solution that incorporated an accessible plant space behind the cookline and designed sufficient space to enable a kitchen extract fan and filtration to be installed, whilst still providing suitable access for ductwork cleaning. Good job team!
