Sector: Quick Service Restaurant
Details: Burger, fries and shakes
Location: Blanche, Paris, France
In Arlington, Virginia in 1986, Jerry and Janie Murrell gave their five sons an ultimatum: “Go to college or start a business”. A business idea was formed and the first Five Guys opened, named after the five brothers.
Thirty years later, Five Guys is now an internationally renowned burger chain, with 1800 sites worldwide
It all started with a simple offering: hand-formed prime beef burgers grilled to perfection and served with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil. Since then, this offering hasn’t changed. Five Guys continues to serve its trademark burgers and fries and have built up a huge following.
We have enjoyed a long standing relationship with Five Guys and have worked on their restaurants across the UK, Europe, America and Australia.
This Five Guys restaurant is situated in a Parisian plaza called Blanche, which is directly opposite the famous Moulin Rouge, providing the perfect spot to take in the famous landmark.
"It was fantastic to work on such a high profile branch of Five Guys. Adapting an old building into a restaurant business was a difficult but rewarding challenge. "
Tim Murray, Project Manager, France at Chapman Ventilation Ltd
Founded in the early 20th century, Blanche, Paris, is a delightful neighbourhood that captures the quintessential charm of the city. It is also home to the iconic Moulin Rouge, a symbol of Parisian nightlife. With its picturesque streets, inviting cafes and bistros, Blanche exudes a vibrant yet cosy atmosphere. The area is a perfect blend of historic allure and modern vibrancy, offering visitors a taste of authentic Parisian culture. It’s an ideal spot for both leisurely strolls and exciting adventures.
A huge amount of preparatory work was undertaken in advance of the project beginning due to the old age of the site, but it was definitely worth the wait and enabled everything to go smoothly.
The first stage was to combine an old restaurant and housing, and develop it into one large unit suitable for a Five Guys restaurant.
As the first Five Guys in France to contain an open ceiling in the dining area, there were structural issues to address before installing the risers. Our Project Managers worked collaboratively with our CAD design team to ensure this was planned accurately and ensure the installation went to plan.
The extract system is an integral part of the Five Guys restaurants, and the ductwork is powder-coated in their signature colour – bright red. This is a feature we’ve been providing Five Guys for many years and we are very proud that work created by our talented team in our Hertfordshire factory is on display in their Paris restaurant.
Chapman Ventilation are delighted to have worked on this iconic branch of Five Guys, and continue building our long standing relationship with this global brand.
