Drake & Morgan

Sector: Hospitality
Details: 14,500 sq.ft. Restaurant and Bar
Location: King's Cross, London

Drake & Morgan, the London restaurant and bar group, has just opened its ninth site at King’s Cross Pancras Square, just under the Google offices. The all-day dining destination is the biggest Drake and Morgan site to date. It includes two dynamic bars, a restaurant, deli, a fully connected lounge for remote working, a private dining room and bookable kitchen ‘pods’ for private parties. Since 2009, we’ve worked closely with Drake and Morgan on sites such as The Fable, The Anthologist and The Folly. Over the past six years, we have designed, installed and commissioned HVAC systems in some of the most beautiful sites around London for the group.

"This is the first Drake and Morgan site I have personally worked on and it’s been so much fun. Having such a great Projects Team, from designers to architects, on board made the experience very enjoyable and everyone’s team work and dedication is reflected in the site. I can’t wait to see what the group has in store next."

Travelling the world

Interior designers Fusion Design and Architecture Ltd took inspiration from their trips abroad to Istanbul, California and New York at this particular site. To complete the look they used plush materials such as leather upholstery, elm and walnut flooring and vibrant splashes of orange and green. The site, which is spread over two floors, is carved up into smaller spaces each with its own identity and separated with reeded glass screens. Stand out features at Drake & Morgan King’s Cross include an emerald green staircase connecting the two floors, an island bar with swivel stools and an open-plan kitchen with the sit-at grill as the main focal point.

Being in control

Having a close working relationship with the group means that we have been able to provide expert advice over the years as well as installing effective and efficient systems. With any site that features an open planned kitchen it’s especially important to ensure that our systems leave the restaurant with nothing but cool and fresh air by eliminating all perceptible traces of grease, smoke and odour from the kitchen and beyond. That’s why we installed an eleven metre canopy to control all cooking plumes made within the kitchen from seeping out into the restaurants affecting both diners and the offices above and around the site.
