Five Guys to open in Spain

The popular US burger chain Five Guys is to make its debut in Spain later this year. The group has secured a 735sqm site in Madrid in the upscale shopping street Gran Via. Five Guys managing director John Eckbert said: “We began to think about the possibility of opening in Spain after the opening of our first store in the UK in July 2013. We started to actively seek a site a few months ago and we are very pleased to have found a space so quickly.” The group is also believed to be close to confirming a launch in Paris and is also looking at opportunities in Germany.
