Ready, steady, bake!

With our electric whisks and mixing bowls at the ready, the team at Chapman Ventilation baked their hearts out for the annual Macmillan coffee morning a few weeks ago. It seems that we have a team of very euthanistic bakers, but who doesn’t love a bake sale? I know I do! It’s the perfect excuse to indulge in delicious cakes and not feel too guilty. Watch out The Great British Bake Off, we have some strong contestants for the 2019 show.

On Wednesday 26th August, we hosted our very own bake sale and participated in the coffee morning. We raised an incredible £55 for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity – one of Britain’s largest charities that provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. Coffee Mornings are Macmillan’s biggest fundraising events that have raised over £200 million since they first started in 1990.

Not only did we raise money for Macmillan’s we got to enjoy a day full of delicious cakes. With such a variety of cakes, making a choice of what cake was the hardest decisions of my day. Carrot cake or chocolate cake? Cupcakes or lemon drizzle? Cherry shortbread or Crème brûlée? What won me over was the carrot cake topped with sugary cheese cream and sesame snaps. Needless to say, not even a crumb was left at the end of the day!

Here’s some photos from the day, if you weren’t hungry… you will be now!

Bring on the next bake sale!
