Mental Health Awareness Week 2019
Mental Health Awareness Week, by the Mental Health Foundation, helps to raise awareness around different topics including: stress, relationships, loneliness, altruism, sleep, alcohol and friendship.
This years’ Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place from Monday 13th to Sunday 19th May and the theme is body image – how we think and feel about our bodies.
Why does body image matter?
Body image encompasses many different factors and includes how we feel when we see ourselves, how we think about our bodies and what we believe about our appearance. Negative body image can affect anyone at any age and can have a negative perception of how we perceive our bodies and appearance. With the use of social media platforms on the rise, negative body image is becoming more of a concern across the globe.
To raise awareness and money for the Mental Health Awareness Week by the Mental Health Foundation, we’re are hosting a bake sale on Thursday 16th May. Keep an eye on our social media feed of all the delicious cakes!
